Late Work
Late Work
Ms. Tyack’s Late Work Policy:
Late work is accepted with a 10% deduction each DAY it is late.
This allows students 10 days to submit fully completed work that meets all requirements/expectations and still receive partial credit.
Clear deadlines are posted on Canvas for each assignment.
Late work scores will only be updated in Aeries during end-of-cycle grading periods (progress reports + quarter report cards)
Absences do not excuse students from assigned work.
For extended absences (2+ days), students must request temporary ISP through the main office to stay on track with coursework.
If you miss deadlines and turn in work when you have the time,
your teachers will grade it when they have the time.
If you turn in late work, please know that Ms. Tyack grades it only during progress report and quarter grading periods.
This helps her keep grading balanced and ensures she can focus on current assignments too.
Communication About Late Work
If you submit an assignment after the deadline, please do not send demanding emails to your teachers about grading it.
Instead, send a polite note letting them know the work is complete and include a brief apology for the late submission.
Be sure to include the assignment title + your class period.
Then, have patience.
You missed the deadline. They already graded the on-time submissions.
If they accept late submissions, they will grade them when they can find the time in their busy schedules.
INCOMPLETE work will not be graded.
Assignments must be completed in full to earn credit & may be turned in late for partial credit (10% off each day).
After a quarter ends, work from that quarter will no longer be accepted.
Students who are failing (or at risk of failing) may be assigned Saturday School and/or lunch/after school tutoring if they are not completing assignments by the end of each week (either in class or on their own time).
